This post is NOT in any way detrimental to the OFiDCrypt mission.

Instead, it reflects the developments and challenges faced by a different community and their project.

Today, we at OFiDCrypt are deeply saddened by the announcement by the Kin founder, Ted Livingston, regarding Flipchat's development suspension, the persistent sell pressure facing Kin, and the shift toward a stablecoin as the focus in a new app. This news is disheartening—not only for Kin holders but also for the people we’ve worked hard to onboard into this ecosystem.

As the creator of OFiDCrypt, I feel a deep responsibility to those I’ve led to offer something meaningful in exchange for their trust. These times are undeniably uncertain, but even now, there are ways to mitigate the challenges—whether through pooling resources or working together to protect Kin's value. Many dedicated partners remain engaged, including Airbills Pay and Team Nigeria. We are hopeful that, together with TS and other developers, we can create new opportunities for growth and stability. This doesn’t have to be the end of the road.

In 2019, I personally discovered Kin and embarked on a journey filled with both euphoria and despair. Today, I know many of you may be feeling those same emotions. This is a complex situation, but no one has to face it alone. At OFiDCrypt, we are committed to keeping spirits high, whether you simply want to chat or seek support. We're not here to compete; we're here to collaborate and uplift.

I’ve been following the conversations in Flipchat #32, and I am in awe of what the Kin Community has accomplished over the years. We can't compare to those incredible contributions, but every journey starts somewhere. For many of us, the discussions, connections, and shared vision have become a significant part of our lives—just as Kin did for me.

Given the current developments, we will need to suspend our Kin-related pages temporarily until we gain more clarity. While this is a difficult decision, it reflects our commitment to adapting and finding the best way forward for our community.

This may be a sad day, but it’s not the end. Let’s navigate this journey together, with hope and determination 🤝
